The Object Relations Technique
The Object Relations Technique (O.R.T.) is a unique and powerful projective method for personality assessment, first developed in 1955 by Herbert Phillipson at London's famed Tavistock Institute.
Since 1995, the non-profit ORT Institute has developed and published the ORT, and is the sole authorized source for its uniquely potent visual stimulus series, the ORT Plates.
We publish a complete ORT Manual for the use of the ORT as personality assessment tool. This single volume is both a tutorial and a reference, offering a fully operationalized method for administering and scoring the ORT — with flow charts, standardized scales of affects and defenses, an instructive case study, and cross references to DSM.

ORT Institute works to connect and educate active ORT researchers and clinicians in 24 countries around the world.
